Direct Care Staff

Staff

General Description: Provides instruction, training, and personal assistance to residents. Assists with planning and implementing activities and programs to help residents achieve maximum independence, improve their pro-social behavior, and increase their quality of life in a homelike environment.

Required Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.  Demonstrate good oral and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Possess a valid Michigan driver’s license with good driving record.  Pass criminal, driving, and Department of Social Service checks.  Available to work assigned hours.  Possess dependable transportation to work and reliable means of communication via telephone.  PREFERRED: Applicants with special certification (i.e.CNA), Associate’s degree or college courses in social science or education.  Previous experience serving special populations. Certification in first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and Mandt System training in non-violent verbal and physical de-escalation techniques (training is provided if not currently certified in these areas).

Shift Supervisors

General Description: Provide supervision and training to direct care staff and monitor resident activities in accordance with home and program goals.  Responsible for staffing, safety, and supervision of all residents on assigned shift.  Responsible for programming, activities, documentation, and scheduled events on assigned shift.

Qualifications: Demonstrate good leadership, management, organizational skills. Demonstrate an ability to train and positively motivate other staff.  Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication with managers and subordinates.  Special certification, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or college courses in social sciences or education preferred and two or more years experience as a Direct Care Staff.  Current certification or certifiable in first aid, CPR, and Mandt System training in non-violent verbal and physical de-escalation techniques.

General Description: Home Managers and Assistant Home Managers are overall responsible for the hiring, management, and training of staff, and the operations of home and resident programming in accordance with HomeLife, Inc. goals and objectives. They are responsible for staff scheduling, program safety, and supervision. Clinicians should have degree and certification or license in clinical specialty.

Required Qualifications: Home Managers and Assistant Home Managers should have a Bachelor’s degree or advanced education in social sciences preferred with at least one year experience in human service field or 2 or more years experience as a Direct Care Staff. All professional candidates should demonstrate good leadership, management, and organizational skills. Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate good time management and goal setting skills. Demonstrate an ability to train and positively motivate other staff. Current certification or certifiable in first aid, CPR, and Mandt System Training in non-violent verbal and physical de-escalation techniques.
